The City has retained engineering consultants R.F. Binnie and Associates to provide a functional design for intersection improvements at 207 Street and Lougheed Highway to improve north/south traffic flows, vehicle movements in and out of nearby businesses, and pedestrian and cyclist safety. These improvements may extend along 207 Street from 118 Avenue to Dewdney Trunk Road.
The City and R.F. Binnie & Associates Ltd. have been working with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI) to get their approval on the conceptual design for improvements to 207 Street and Lougheed Highway which is a provincially regulated and maintained intersection. Once Ministry approval is received, an Open House will be held to seek public comment on the conceptual design. Public comments will be considered into a detailed design that is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2017 and roadway improvements are tentatively planned for the fall of 2017.
