Park Development

Parks, Recreation & Culture strives to provide residents with parks, trails and other recreation facilities that are:

  • thoughtfully designed
  • well maintained
  • meet the needs of our community

We do this by building new parks and improving our existing parks.

We are building a new community garden at 12072 Garden St. (corner of Brown Ave and Garden Street) for spring 2024. This location will have 25 garden plots, 6 of which will be a raised wheelchair accessible garden box. Please see the community garden concept plan for further details.

raised accessible planters

To support gardeners, this location will include multiple points to access water, an accessible picnic table, accessible surfacing and routes, and space for future initiatives, such as compost boxes and onsite storage.

A communal garden bed will also be provided for a shared perennial and herb garden.
