Process

The Paid-on-call firefighter recruitment is being done through an online application process with the City of Maple Ridge Human Resources department.
We are unable to accept in-person or mailed-in applications.

Once you have reviewed the Recruitment Application Manualsubmit your online application. 

Remember you must include the following documents:

  1. Detailed cover letter
  2. Current Resume
  3. Police Information Check (with Vulnerable sector) - dated within 60 days of your application
  4. Drivers Abstract - dated within 30 days of your application
  5. Proof of education
  6. Any certificates/qualifications to support your application
 Applications will be accepted until Sunday, September 16, 2018.

The application process for the Maple Ridge Fire Department has seven (7) different stages:

Stage 1 – Application submission & Review
Stage 2 – Entry Level Testing – FireTEAM
Stage 3 – Physical Ability Testing
Stage 4 – Interview, Reference Checks
Stage 5 – Medical Exam
Stage 6 – Conditional Offer
Stage 7 – Pre Training Preparation 
Stage 8 – Recruit Training

Applicants will be notified by email at every stage if they will be moving on to the next stage.  It is the candidate's responsibility to ensure that they regularly check their email account for updates.
