The City is proceeding with urbanizing 203 Street from Dewdney Trunk Road to Golden Ears Way. The work generally consists of complete roadway reconstruction, requiring new sidewalk with curb and gutter installation, street lighting, bidirectional protected bike lanes and intermittent street parking along 203 Street.
The construction contract has been awarded to Eurovia British Columbia Inc. Construction commenced on June 20, 2016 and will be substantially complete in 2017.
Dewdney Trunk Road to 123 Avenue
Construction is substantially complete from Dewdney Trunk Road to south of 123 Avenue. Remaining works to be completed in 2016 includes the green pavement markings on the bike lane, landscaping and tree planting in the boulevard.
123 Avenue to Powell Avenue
All the underground works for the storm sewer system are now complete and pouring of concrete curb and gutter is in progress. Due to inclement weather, the contractor will not be working from December 19 until the new year. The final top lift asphalt paving will be completed in spring 2017.
Occasional single lane alternating traffic will be in effect during hours of work and two-lane traffic will be maintained after working hours. Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to use alternate routes during construction. Your patience is appreciated during construction.
