I recently completed my first aid instructor course and hope to run low cost first aid courses in Maple Ridge to help people attain or advance their level of employment with these new skills. I’m also studying Urban Development and Environmental Science at the University of the Fraser Valley.
Volunteering is something close to my heart. As a long time resident and volunteer I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with many community leaders and personal mentors who have fueled my passion for local politics. Over the last five years I’ve served as the volunteer coordinator for multiple festivals including Country Fest, GETI Fest and Earth Day. I’ve also spent extensive time volunteering with Ghost Ridge Haunted House and the Golden Ears Gogos in association with the Stephen Lewis Foundation who raise money for Grandmothers in Africa raising children orphaned by AIDS.
I am proud to have been selected as the Council Liaison to the following committees:
- Active Transportation Advisory Committee
- Public Art Steering Committee
- Parks and Leisure Services Commission
- Ridge Meadows Recycling Society
- Audit Committee
I also serve as the Alternate Council Liaison to the following committees:
- Environmental Advisory Committee
- Agricultural Advisory Committee
- Municipal Advisory Committee on Accessibility Issues
- Ridge Meadows Arts Council
- Ridge Meadows Youth and Justice Advocacy Association
I am very humbled to have been chosen to serve the community as a City Councillor and am excited to strengthen our staff team by bringing a diverse, fresh way of thinking to City Council.
