Maple Ridge Mayor Nicole Read

Your Mayor

Welcome! One of the commitments that our Council made at the beginning of our mandate was to do our business in the most transparent way possible. I made a commitment in my inaugural address to provide citizens with regular updates on the work we are all doing on behalf of citizens. My page provides you with a number of links to help you stay informed and engaged with Council’s work and our community.

This Blog is where I will live up to the commitment from my inaugural address to make regular reports on the work that I, and your Council, are doing on your behalf.

On my webpage you will find links to my Facebook and Twitter accounts. I, and most of Council, monitor a number of pages in the social media realm and we enjoy reading the comments and suggestions that you post as part of various forums. From time to time I may comment directly in a conversation thread or make a post in these channels. Please follow me or like my page so we can keep in touch in this virtual ‘City Hall’ environment. Finally, the most exciting part is this Blog feature. This is where I will live up to the commitment from my inaugural address to make regular reports on the work that I, and your Council, are doing on your behalf.

The links on the left will allow you to get information on appearing as a delegation, setting up an appointment with me or making a service request for something that you see in the community that needs attention. Below and to the right on my webpage is a section called ‘Quick Thoughts’ that I will use to point to important work in the community, suggestions on links that may be of interest to citizens or a ‘shout out’ to members of our community who are doing work that deserves a spotlight.

From time to time I may ask a member of Council or a member of the community to be a guest blogger in this space so that we can have a lively discussion on the issues in our community. Thanks for taking the time to visit this page and I encourage you to explore the links and become part of the conversation in our community.
