  1. Haney Farmers Market Celebrates National Aboriginal Day

    June 24, 2017, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Memorial Peace Park

    Memorial Peace Park is bursting at the seams in celebration of National Aboriginal Day that occurs on June 21. Haney Farmers Market and Fraser River All Nations Aboriginal Society partner up to celebrate their 8th annual event, happening on June 24th. Join in the crafts, ceremonies, singing, and dancing! There will be a Bannock Cookoff, with judging at 11:30am, and sales open to the public shortly after. Jessica Peters is defending her title from last year. Mike Walker entertains in the Café Corner. More veggies, herbs, flowers, and fruit are arriving at the Marketplace. Join us for lunch at the Sizzlin' Smokey Dog booth or have a special sandwich or tasty pretzel at Beaf's BBQ.

  2. Aboriginal Day Celebration

    In recognition of National Aboriginal Day on June 21, the 8th annual Aboriginal Day Celebration will feature the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of our First Nations, Inuit and Metis people. Traditional dance, music and ceremonial blessings, a Bannock cook-off, a farmer’s market, community displays, Aboriginal games, crafts and interactivities activities bring people of all ages together on Saturday, June 24th for an exciting community gathering in Memorial Peace Park.

  3. Action Park Poetry and Art Unveiling

    June 25, 2017, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

    This poetry and art project at Thomas Haney Schoolyard Action Park is a community public artwork commissioned through the Maple Ridge Public Art Program. Students from Maple Ridge Youth Council and Thomas Haney Secondary worked with Sto:lo/St'át'imc multimedia artist Ronnie Dean Harris and Vancouver sculptor and designer Mary-Ann Liu to develop ideas for surfaces of the concrete planters surrounding the skate park and vinyl wraps for the garbage containers.
