  3. ACT Presents Series: La Tarara: Kasandra Flamenco

    May 7, 2017, 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM @ The ACT Arts Centre

La Tarara explores the power and variety of human emotions. This percussive flamenco dance spins a tale of brotherhood with rivalry, love, jealousy and intrigue in the mystical Café de Chinitas of Federico Garcia Lorca’s poetry. Alluring dance, Sevillan silk shawls, Spanish bata de cola (long train dress), castanets, uttering fans and epic footwork all bring the story to life. A dazzling presentation full of drama, intensity and bravado, La Tarara features one of Canada’s leading amenco artists, Kasandra “La China”, along with two of Spain’s cutting edge flamenco dancers, Ivan Vargas Heredia and Emilio Ochando.
