Candidate Profile Submission and Guidelines

Every candidate for Mayor, Councillor, and School Trustee will be given the option of submitting candidate profile information for the local government election. The biographies will be posted by the Declaration of Election by Voting, (4pm on Monday Sept 19^th) until shortly after the election on the City of Maple Ridge website. Profiles must be submitted before September 14, 2022.

Biography Requirements Checklist

Your statement needs to be a maximum of 150 words
English only
Statements must be confined to information about the candidate, the candidate’s policies, and the candidate’s intentions if elected. The Chief Election Officer may remove all or portions of a candidate’s profile if they consider it prudent or advisable to do so

Sending a Photograph

Provide a head-and-shoulders photograph of yourself to the size shown below. The file size limit must remain under 5 mb and provided as a jpeg.

Deadline Information

For candidates who choose not to submit profile information, or who fail to submit appropriate information by September 14, 2022, the candidate name, and position nominated for, will appear in the candidate profile with the notation "Candidate profile information not provided." Where the profile is complete except for a photo, the notation "Photo not provided" will appear in the photo space; contact information not submitted will be left blank.
