The City plans to replace the 236 Street watermain north of 132 Avenue and install a new feeder watermain on 132 Avenue and 237A Street. The work on 236 Street replaces an existing asbestos cement watermain installed in 1969 that is at the end of its service life. The work on 132 Avenue and 237A Street will provide a new feeder watermain that twins an existing watermain to increase system capacity to support growth, fire flow requirements and improve redundancy.
The City has retained ISL Engineering and Land Services Ltd. to design the project and Cancon Construction Ltd. to construct it.
Construction is now substantially complete and the watermains are in service.
