SPECIAL COUNCIL WORKSHOP 9:00 AM

Council will review the draft 2023 – 2027 Financial Plan with presentations from each of the City’s General Managers and Directors. This is a daylong session scheduled to run until 4:00 pm and will be live streamed for those who are unable to attend in-person.

March 21

PUBLIC HEARING 7:00 PM Council Chambers

Council will hear feedback from the public on two applications:

  • 11980 Glenhurst Street to permit for the rezoning to allow a future two lot subdivision
  • 11892, 11886 and 11902 232 Street – to allow the future construction of a 47 unit townhouse complex.

Council will hear presentations on four rezoning applications:

  • Two properties at 224 Street Brown Avenue & Fraser Street to permit the construction of a five storey apartment building.
  • Two properties at 217 Street & Lougheed Highway to permit construction of 10,000 square feet of commercial space and 520 apartment dwelling units.
  • A property at 215 Street and River Road to permit the construction of a four-unit courtyard dwelling.
  • Three properties located at 104 Avenue at 240 Street to permit construction of a townhouse complex and conservation area.

Council will get information on three development variance permit applications:

Council is hitting the ground running after the Family Day long weekend with two meetings on Tuesday. Here’s some highlights of the items on the agenda.

COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE 11:00 am in Council Chambers

PRESENTATION from TreeCycle Canada on how construction wood waste, urban tree removals, metal waste and other products can be removed from the waste stream and recycled responsibly.

Staff will report on the following applications:

COUNCIL WORKSHOP 11:00 am in Council Chambers

Council will get an update on the Yennadon Employment Lands file, including the history of the project, public consultation and the proposed next steps to designate these lands for future employment growth. Council will be briefed on the history of a tree cutting permit application.

COUNCIL MEETING 7:00 pm in Council Chambers

PRESENTATIONS & DELEGATIONS: Curtis Pendleton, Executive Director of the ACT Arts Centre will provide Council with a presentation on what’s happening at the facility. Ross Davies from the Kanaka Education & Environmental Partnership Society will provide an update on the 2022 activities of his organization. The final delegation is a visit from Kristi Maier representing the Chamber of Commerce to talk about their services, events and marketing plans for the upcoming year.

DELEGATION: Kristi Lauridsen and Lisa Shepherd will be joined by students from School District No. 42 to share the story and message behind a piece of art that they have created to welcome Ukrainian refugees.
