The City of Maple Ridge plans to widen Abernethy Way to four lanes between 230 Street and 232 Street. In addition, the intersection of 232 Street and Dewdney Trunk Road will be reconfigured to include two left-turn lanes southbound on 232 Street.
These proposed improvements will reduce traffic congestion at the Abernethy Way and 232 Street intersection and the 232 Street and Dewdney Trunk Road intersection.
The City of Maple Ridge held a virtual information session on Thursday, March 24, 2022, to discuss the improvements proposed to this corridor.
Aplin and Martin Consultants Ltd. has been retained to complete the design and Jack Cewe Construction Ltd. has been retained to complete the construction.
Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2022 and anticipated to complete in April 2023. Single-lane alternating traffic will be in effect between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, with occasional work on Saturday as necessary.
