To reduce the environmental and financial costs associated with energy consumption, the City of Maple Ridge is actively looking for ways to decrease the amount of energy used corporately.
As a charter member of the Fraser Basin Council's E3 (Energy, Environment, Excellence) Fleet Program, Maple Ridge has access to tools and resources that enable the municipality to reduce fuel costs and emissions through excellence in fleet management.
In early 2010, Maple Ridge Information Technology staff adopted new technology that is cost-effective and considered best practice for its impact on corporate operations and the environment.
Through a partnership with the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society, the Workplace Recycling and Composting Program helps staff divert garbage from the waste stream by providing recycling stations.
