Energy Awareness

Staff energy awareness has increased as a result of energy education sessions, increased communications and more interdepartmental involvement. More staff are showcasing energy best practices and reducing their energy consumption where feasible. This will translate into operational cost savings by reducing the costs of energy, equipment maintenance and equipment replacement while also decreasing the carbon footprint.

Over 250 Maple Ridge employees attended energy awareness sessions in the fall of 2010. The sessions focused on educating staff on where energy is used and how much it costs environmentally and financially, discussed actions that all employees can do to reduce energy consumption and reviewed the resources available to employees to improve corporate sustainability.
