The Procurement section manages the bid opportunities including request for proposals (RFPs), invitation to tender (ITT) and invitation to quote (ITQ). Formal invitations to bid are issued for most acquisitions having an expected value over $75,000.00 for goods and services and $200,00 for construction. Procurement advertises the bid opportunities on the Government of British Columbia's website, BC Bid.
The City of Maple Ridge procures numerous types of goods and services. Examples of purchased goods and services include, but are not limited to: vehicles, heavy-duty equipment, parts, pipe, road installation, water and sewer services, computer equipment, office products and machines, office furniture, consulting services, building and grounds maintenance services, communications, safety supplies, fire fighting apparatus and equipment, first aid supplies, drafting supplies, printing services, signage and janitorial services and supplies.
These goods and services are purchased under the guidance of the City's Procurement Policy.
