Katherine Wagner
and her family have lived in Maple Ridge for 24 years. A school trustee from 1996-2005, Katherine has also served on boards and committees at the local, provincial and national level. Katherine is a founder and organizer of Golden Ears Writers and a student in SFU’s Writers Studio program.
Ivan Chow
is an eight year resident of Maple Ridge. He is a veteran of the high tech industry, has a strong interest in governance and transparency, and is currently the chairperson of a local cycling advocacy group.
Matt Ellis
is a six year resident of Maple Ridge and lives in Cottonwood with his wife. He holds a diploma of technology in Power and Process Engineering from BCIT, as well as several other certifications. He believes transparency, and accountability are crucial to a well-run organization.
Harvey Gigun
is a 35 year resident of Maple Ridge and a part-time BC Marriage Commissioner. He retired after more than thirty years with the CRA and is familiar with government structure and processes. He is active in the community and was involved in the creation of several large-scale public woodcarvings now on permanent public display.
Rasam Hafezi
moved to Maple Ridge four years ago and is a proud husband and father of two. As a technology professional in the marketing and loyalty domains, he leads large projects for one of North America’s largest retailers. An entrepreneur at heart, Rasam owned a software development company and is an active real estate investor.
Jean Hincks
is a Maple Ridge resident and an active member of the community for over 30 years. She is a community newspaper publisher and has volunteered for the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation, Youth Justice Advocacy Committee, Women’s AM and the Meadowridge Knights.
Dennis Kinsey
is a 24 year resident of Maple Ridge. Now retired, most of his career was in the retail sector at a senior management level. Key areas of his experience include sustainability, product integrity, media and government relations. He also owned and operated several successful small businesses. Dennis is past president and current board member of the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society.
Alex Miyahara
grew up in Maple Ridge and graduated from Thomas Haney in 2012. He is currently studying economics and political science at UBC. Alex hopes his outlook and ability to relate to the younger population can be utilized to address the lack of interest and participation amongst youth.
Graham Mowatt
is a life-long resident of Maple Ridge and past president of the MR Lions Club. Now retired, he was a Captain and relief Manager on the Albion Ferry and sat on provincial and national-level committees. Graham’s desire to see Maple Ridge become a better place to live prompted him to run for Council.
Sean Orcutt
and his wife moved to Maple Ridge nine years ago. They have a young child and love it here. He is very involved in the community including volunteering at Jackson Farm, and connecting “Albion Neighbours” on Facebook. Sean is a rotary draw bender and serves as the Chief Shop Steward at his workplace.
Robert (Bob) Roy
is semi-retired with more than 35 years’ experience as a corporate executive with some of Canada's largest financial services firms, and he is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Industry. Bob has business savvy and a history of commitment to excellence in business and corporate governance.
