Experience GLOW Maple Ridge This Holiday Season

Maple Ridge, BC: The City is launching Glow Maple Ridge, an annual holiday event that celebrates the season by lighting up the downtown core between December 7, 2019 and January 5, 2020.

Maple Ridge has a long tradition of making its downtown light up for the holidays ever since the business community partnered with the City to install the now iconic red Christmas bells over 50 years ago. Building on that tradition, the City is partnering with the Maple Ridge Downtown Business Improvement Association to help turn the Town Centre into a winter wonderland. Aside from the traditional red bells, Memorial Peace Park will be decked out with illuminated trees, a light tunnel, giant light ornaments, an illuminated bandstand and much more. Participating downtown businesses will also be lighting up and decorating their store fronts in the "Old Fashioned Christmas Village" theme to help add to the Glow Maple Ridge experience.

“I want to thank the sponsors who have stepped up and invested in this event,” said Mayor Morden. “Smart Centres, Haney Place Mall, Falcon Homes, Warrington PCI & Chances Maple Ridge have all partnered with the City’s Tourism Department to help create an incredible visual backdrop for the holidays.” The new #GLOWMapleRidge illuminations will kick off with the Winter Fest event on Saturday, December 7 at Memorial Peace Park and the lighting of Maple Ridge’s giant sequoia Christmas tree at 6:00 pm sharp, which will also signal the start of the Santa Claus Parade.

There will be some amazing entertainment taking place in Memorial Peace Park during the Glow Maple Ridge season to truly make our Town Centre a must visit holiday destination. Entertainment will include performances by local youth musicians from the School of Rock and other performers as part of the programming on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights in December. More details for the event and the list of performances taking place at the bandstand can be found online at or on the City’s Facebook event page.
