[ARCHIVED] Virtual Service only for Development Services enquiries

virtual services_spotlight

Please note: City staff are adapting our inspection processes to deal with the COVID exposures both in our organization and in the community at large.  In an effort to complete as many inspections as possible, some in-person inspections will be transitioned to video based inspections.  When booking an inspection, please ensure that you provide your email and cell phone number that will be with you at the time of the inspection (please ensure that you have the MS Teams app installed on your phone).  If your inspection will be conducted via video you will be contacted on the day of the inspection.  Depending the location of your project in Maple Ridge we may have to look at alternative approaches. We appreciate your understanding as we work through this period of time.

In order to improve site safety, we have moved some staff to virtual work from home. Plan checking work is still underway with staff who have been deployed to work from home. We will contact you when your permit is ready. We would ask that customers refrain from calling for status updates during this time. Our team is focused on conducting permit reviews as quickly and efficiently as possible. We are unable to offer our usual service with phone status checks. We ask for your patience and assure you that we are moving as quickly though the project files.

Ambassadors greeting and screening visitors at City Hall will provide information to Building, Planning & Engineering customers on how to access the virtual services. The Finance counter will continue to be available for in-person transactions.

The City hopes to have in-person visits available again starting on May 3 and will evaluate the situation and report out on the availability of in-person services no later than April 30. We ask for the patience of our customers as we take this proactive step to ensure the safety of the public and our staff.

The Operations Centre and the Randy Herman Community Safety Building remain closed to the public.
