Dogs in Parks

Explore Maple Ridge Dog Parks with your Four-Legged Friend

Let's keep our dog parks fun, clean and safe for all! Remember that dogs must be kept on a leash in all park areas except in areas designated and signed as off-leash. Dog owners are required to pick up after their pets and to dispose of their waste responsibly.

2020 Dog Park Survey

In the fall of 2020, we reached out to the community for feedback about our dog off-leash parks. In 2018, Hammond Dog Off-Leash area was developed under the Golden Ears Bridge and in 2020 a new urban dog park was developed in Beckett Park at 11683 223 St.

An online survey was conducted through social media channels. Over the course of the comment period, over 330 people replied. The feedback we received will be used to inform our decisions on dog park maintenance and future dog park developments.

Additional Information

Other dog park improvements we will consider as part of the outcomes of this survey include:

  • Explore the opportunity for a dog off-leash park at Hammond Stadium Park. A separate public consultation process will follow for neighbourhood input
  • Expand Maple Ridge Upper Dog off-leash park by including the remaining field area into the dog park
  • Add mulch pathways to Westview dog off-leash park to address drainage concerns
  • Providing more shade opportunities in existing dog off leash parks
  • Providing additional seating opportunities in existing dog off leash parks
