Maple Ridge, B.C: Maple Ridge Fire & Rescue Services has reinstated a city-wide fire ban effective Friday, July 7 at 12:00 p.m. in line with the provincial fire ban.
The following activities are prohibited in Maple Ridge:
- Campfires
- Fireworks
- Sky Lanterns
- Binary Exploding Targets
- Burn Barrels or Burn Cages of any size or description
- Air Curtain Burners
This does not include the use of CSA-rated or ULC-rated barbeques, camping type stoves or portable campfire apparatus using camping gas, natural gas/propane, or briquette barbeques, on private property.
There is no significant rainfall in the 14 day forecast and the conditions are very dry in the region.
The fire ban will remain in place until October 31. 2023, or until lifted by the Fire Department.
Any person found in contravention of the fire ban will be liable to a fine up to $1000.
