[ARCHIVED] Seven Days Ago the Power Went Out. Were You Ready?

This wind storm is a wakeup call, and we want to help you learn how to prepare your family to be prepared for a disaster. On Thursday, September 10 at 7:00 pm we will host a 90 minute presentation on Emergency Preparedness at City Hall in Council Chambers. Patrick Cullen, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for the City of Maple Ridge, will walk you through the steps to create an Emergency Plan for your family. From critical communications if your family is separated, to making a ‘grab and go’ backpack and an Emergency Kit for your home, Patrick will help you learn the skills you need to be self-sufficient and safe for at least 72 hours following a disaster. The session will be repeated on Sunday, September 20 both at Noon and 2:00 pm. We are also inviting companies that sell emergency supplies to be part of the September 20 event to display your products. Seating is limited to approximately 100 people per session, so please call 604-467-7301 and leave a message with your name and the number of people attending. Learn the techniques to keep your family safe in an Emergency! When the lights go out it's too late.
