Maple Ridge, B.C., October 17, 2025 – As Halloween, Diwali and fall celebrations approach, the City of Maple Ridge reminds residents that fireworks and firecrackers are not allowed to be sold, used or set off anywhere in the City without a valid permit.

These regulations help keep our community safe and prevents injuries, fires, and harm to pets and wildlife.

Know the Fireworks Rules

Under City Bylaws:

  • No person can sell, give, trade, or offer for sale any fireworks or firecrackers.
  • No person may possess, discharge, or set off fireworks without a valid permit issued
  • Anyone found in violation may be directed to surrender fireworks to a Peace Officer and may face fines ranging from $500 to $1,000.

The City’s Bylaw and Fire Departments, along with the RCMP, will be responding to fireworks-related complaints as Halloween and other celebrations approach.
