Types of Utilities charges from the City of Maple Ridge are Water, Sewer and Recycling. Most utility charges are billed on your annual Property Tax Notice. If you are on metered water, you will receive a quarterly Metered Utility Notice.

Metered Utility Due Date

Quarter 4, 2024 Metered Utility Notices are due February 20, 2025. Payments need to be received in our office by the due date. A 10% penalty will be added to accounts that are not paid by the due date.

Utility Charges and Credits

Annual Utility services are billed on your Property Tax Notice and are due on the property tax due date of July 2, 2024. Payments for annual utility services will need to be made to your property tax account.

Types of annual utility services:

Flat rate water
Sewer
Bluebox (residential)
Sewer and recycling parcel charges
Water parcel charge - for bare land properties within the vicinity of the city water infrastructure
Homes with a secondary suite will incur a charge for additional services

Charges are a base rate levied per quarter year on service connection size plus a consumption charge

Charges left unpaid after December 31st are transferred to taxes as arrears and are subject to daily interest

Applying for a Leak Adjustment on your Bill

Under Maple Ridge water service bylaw 6002-2001 Part 11 # 33 - Where evidence of a leak is discovered in a consumer’s metered waterworks system and reported, either by the consumer or the City, and such leak is repaired by the consumer within 30 days following discovery, the City will adjust the amount billed for water consumption for a maximum of the previous two quarterly bills plus the current quarter. The adjustment will be a credit of 50% of the cost of the consumption attributed to the leak, based on normal consumption preceding the leak, as determined by the Collector.

What to do:

Identify and repair the leak on your property
Read your meter to make sure your consumption is back to normal
Fill out a Leak Adjustment Request Form
Submit the completed form and repair receipt(s) or photo(s) by:

mailing or dropping off in person at City Hall marked attn Revenue Services

Please ensure the Leak Adjustment Checklist on the form has been completed before submitting your Leak Adjustment Request Form as incomplete submissions will result in a delay.
