Trees

Last updated on

Trees are an important part of Maple Ridge’s urban landscape and play a key role in community health, livability, and climate resilience.

From the urban centre and residential neighbourhoods, to parks and farmland, trees help clean air and water, cool streets and buildings, support biodiversity, and enhance recreation.

Bylaw Updates

As part of our ongoing commitment to urban forest management, Council has adopted a new Tree Protection and Management Bylaw. The changes reflect community feedback and better protect healthy and mature trees, clarify removal and replacement requirements, modernize permitting, and strengthen compliance. Tree Bylaw Public Information Session

Questions about what’s changed with the Tree Protection and Management Bylaw, or want to know how the changes made might affect your plans or projects? A presentation and Q&As will be provided. Please feel free to drop in and speak to urban forestry staff.
